With over a decade of educating the public on water quality, H2O Hero lost effectiveness over time in an effort to reach and get the attention of those who had the biggest impact on the environment: Adults.

In partnership with Causewave Community Partners, a research study is performed every 24 months. The most recent results show a whopping 77% of Monroe County residents did not know local storm drains empty to Lake Ontario. An alarming statistic when storm drains are one of the largest sources for pollution in the county.

To increase awareness and message recall, we identified key audiences that would be most likely to interact with our message: Animal lovers, educators, environmentalists, and water sports enthusiasts.
